2024 Recap & Major 2025 Updates
We've come a long, long way together...
The lack of updates is often a sign that there are so many things happening, I haven’t had a moment to spare.
And the past few of months have been insanely full-on.
But with 2025 just a day or two away, we’ve finally found a little breathing space and, hopefully, going forward, the pace of life will be just a tiny bit less manic.
After spending last winter with a leg full of metal, then recovering from surgery, it was joyous to spend this Christmas Day on the mountain. We snowboarded, we sunbathed, we spent time with friends, and savoured the free-time.
And, finally, I can reveal more details of some the projects that have been in the pipeline for the past year, too!
For the past 12 months, we agreed to let a T.V company film our journey.
The latest series of ‘A New Life in the Sun’ starts on 6th January, and during this series, you’ll get to see our progress with the holiday apartments, the Monsguide business and our efforts to build a home, life, and business out here in Italy.
Blink, and you’ll miss it, but here’s the first moment of our TV debut!
We really hope we don’t end up looking like idiots (as there have been plenty of hard-learned lessons this year that were caught on camera!). Instead, we hope it’ll give you all a nice insight into everything we’re trying to achieve.
We’ll be watching through our fingers, cringing the whole way, but I also can’t wait to see just how far we’ve come. You often forget how much you’ve actually achieved when you’re in the midst of it. Having the cameramen documenting the journey has been a really nice way of making sure we remember where we’ve come from, and where we hope to get to in 2025.

After a summer of friends & family trialling out the facilities, we now have a steady stream of guests booked in for the winter season. Although we’re almost fully booked for January & February, we still have availability in March.

I’m so proud of the first apartment. We’ve learned a lot about what we’ll do differently for the second apartment, which will be ready in time for the summer season, and we’ve worked so hard to get the business up and running.
But, of course, we couldn’t have done any of it without the help of Ash’s mum, Julie, and her partner, Tim.
They’ve been running back and forth from their own renovation project in France to help us out all year. And even though we’ve demanded weeks & weeks of their time, they’ve managed to finish their own project in record time… That’s how the expert renovators do it!!! And, that means…
The French Renovation is On The Market!

It really is inspiring what they’ve achieved with this place, and although we’ll all be sad to see them move on from this place, I’m sure they’ve got lots of exciting things in store for 2025. Watch this space!
